What Sets Oregon Surf Apart
Train the Best. Compete the Best. Committed to Excellence. Oregon Surf is a long-term home for development, belonging, and opportunity.
A long-term home for youth volleyball
To become the Portland area’s most trusted home for youth volleyball and a respected Northwest training academy where athletes grow from their first volleyball experience into confident high school competitors and, when they choose, college athletes.
Every athlete deserves to feel known, challenged, and capable of more.
Our purpose is to use volleyball to build confidence and character while helping athletes discover how far they can reach and how high they can soar.
Developing exceptional student-athletes
Oregon Surf is committed to developing exceptional student-athletes through purposeful training, competitive opportunities, and excellence in coaching.

Technical Foundation
Providing athletes with the technical foundation, resources, and support needed to reach their highest potential.
02
Character & Leadership
Intentionally developing character, leadership, resilience, accountability, and teamwork.
03
Beyond the Court
Instilling values, habits, and personal excellence that extend far beyond competition into life.
Volleyball skills are the foundation. Who athletes become matters too.
We develop fundamental and technical skills while cultivating sportsmanship, leadership, accountability, resilience, teamwork, and cooperation. Our goal is to prepare athletes to compete at their highest possible level and become confident, capable people beyond the court.
The POD Training System
We believe in training as an Academy. Every age group trains in a POD with a POD Director. All teams practice together. Coaches maximize court time, ball touches, and game strategy. Athletes break into position specific training with specialist coaches. We develop all around volleyball players.
POD Training
All teams in the age group train together under the direction of the POD Director and all available coaches.
Position Training
Athletes break into position specific groups to work directly with coaches who specialize in that skill.
Team Scrimmage
Athletes break by team to scrimmage. Coaches work on lineups and run through game play situations.
Getting to Know Your Athlete
We take the time to get to know your athlete before team placement. Athletes are offered a POD spot first. Team placement comes after up to six weeks of evaluation by all coaches.
