Parents and athletes deserve to know who guides their development. We intentionally recruit and retain coaches with the technical knowledge, experience, leadership, and character to teach within the Oregon Surf culture.

Club Director

33 years coaching

33 years coaching volleyball. 16 years head coach of 6A high school programs. 6 years as a club director. 3 teams qualified for Nationals.

Michael King

Assistant/Recruiting Director

30 years coaching

Former Division I head coach. 21 years as a Division I coach and recruiting coordinator. Has coached and helped place 150+ club athletes at colleges where they earned Division I or Division II scholarships.

Coached for three years at McMinnville High School and Oregon Surf. Played at Whitman College, Freshman of the Year 2017.

Coaches clinics at Oregon Surf and at various college camps. 3 years of club volleyball at OSU and PCC.

Cole McMahon

Coach

13 years coaching

13 years of coaching experience, now in his 10th season at Oregon Surf. Coached the 2022 CEVA Champion 16-1 team.

2 years at Beaverton High School, 1 year club coaching. Played PCC PIVA volleyball.

Coaches at Riverdale High School and Kingtide Volleyball. 3 years of college club volleyball at PCC.

Coaches Kingtide 12U and 14U. Assists at JWO and Oregon Surf camps. Plays on the PCC A team.

4 years of coaching experience. Has completed about 180 marathons and ultramarathons.
